Membership Chair, Eliot Parker

A message from Eliot:

This year, I would like to encourage every member to recruit two (2) members of their faculty/campus community to join ASA and in doing so, seek out people that would be active, engaged members with the organization. This is a great opportunity for senior faculty at member institutions to recruit new faculty members who are looking to establish their service records and scholarship opportunities. We have such a kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable group of members and I think our culture translates well to newer faculty who are looking for an organization to join that provides so many service and scholarship opportunities.

As members, we all play an important role in the sustainability of the organization and we can do our part by helping recruit more active members to the organization as well as reach out in a larger and more meaningful way to our institutions and those organizations with ties to Appalachia.

I look forward to helping our organization grow and thrive in the coming year!
